Meet Alison!
Let me start by introducing myself and my family. My name is Allison Kraft and my husband and I are the owners of Lightbridge Academy of Dublin and Powell. I am new to this owning a business world, and to be honest I have no idea what I am doing. This is way out of my comfort zone. I am first a mom, just like you, and a teacher in Worthington City. I am lucky to be the mom of three amazing girls; Liv (17), Emryn (7) and Morgan (5). Yes, that’s right… we have one graduating soon and one just starting Kindergarten. I have been through many stages of motherhood.
Anyway, back on track. My husband, Ben, he is the business guy. I thought he was absolutely insane when he said “Al, I found this great company and I think you will love it because you will get to do what you love, work with kids.” Alright, be honest, how many of us have agreed to hear something out just to save ourselves an argument. This was me, but I got on that plane to New Jersey (at very least it was a weekend away) and was open to hearing more.
We spent three days learning about the company, what they stood for and all the extra things they are doing to help families. This made my heart happy.
Lightbridge believes strongly that it takes a community to help raise a child. They fully acknowledge that being a parent is hard work, especially in a home like mine with two working parents. Lightbridge understands how challenging it can be to balance career and family. That’s what originally made me in love with Lightbridge Academy.
Lightbridge Academy is renowned as The Solution for Working Families®, and it’s more than just the fact that they’re open between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. They truly embrace a community approach to caring for children, creating an environment where every child feels safe, nurtured, and excited to learn and grow.
My girls are out of the child care age, but I was able to sit there and picture myself as a new mom again. My husband and I went through every possibility of how I could stay home with our girls, but it was just not a feasible option for our family.
I wished something like Lightbridge Academy existed when my babies were young. Somewhere that really understood that being a mom is hard. Lightbridge Academy really goes above and beyond to care for children. Lightbridge’s safety measures and sanitation procedures are unlike anything I have seen, and of course they have a phenomenal curriculum. I would not be sitting here writing this if they didn’t. However, what truly sold me as my husband and I listened to everything they had to offer was what they are doing for families and communities.
Lightbridge Academy is new to the Columbus area and new can be scary. We are really proud of what we are bringing to the Columbus area and would love to show you that might be the perfect solution for your family, I would be more than happy to personally meet anyone at our school and share more.
